High School
Smiling secondary schools are places of education and training. The life of the school community is based on freedom of expression, thought, conscience and teaching, on the mutual respect of all people that make up our school community, and on breaking down any ideological, social, cultural, or physical barriers.
In our schools we see inclusion as a continuous process that aims at increasing opportunities for involvement and success for all students.
The four-year Linguistic Liceo and our IT-focused Technical Institute are organized in accordance with national guidelines from MIUR (the Italian Ministry of Education, University, and Research), while our two-year DP IB course is based on the programs and methods of the International Baccalaureate Organisation.
Smiling SERVICE International School is a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and pursuing authorization as an IB World School.
IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to improve the teaching and learning of a diverse and inclusive community of students by delivering challenging, high quality programmes of
international education that share a powerful vision.**
*Only schools authorized by the International Baccalaureate can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme or the IB Career-related Certificate (IBCC). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit www.ibo.org
**Mission Statement from the IB
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
We want our students to be open-minded, autonomous, and curious; we want them to be empathetic and able to take responsibility for themselves, for others, and for their environment. Using the culture and knowledge acquired during this fundamental period of their life, they must be able to face every challenge – linguistic, technological, scientific, human – that the world will present them.

Così facendo, l’istruzione viene integrata in modo trasversale.
