This year’s film festival is dedicated to highlighting world climate change. Seventeen short films have been selected for this event and will be shown on 28thand 29thJanuary. The actual competition to select the best film will start on Thursday 30th. The winner will be announced on Saturday 1stFebruary at 9 p.m. It will be possible to meet and chat to the film writers and directors at the end of each showing.

The Estense Dukes, Ippolito and Alfonso, are the protagonists of this year’s Carnival in Ferrara. Come along and find out more about these fascinating brothers at a special workshop in the Castle.

Why not visit the city by using the new eco-friendly bus or train? Both start from the Castle on Corso Martiri della Libertà. You can buy tickets onboard, which cost €8 per person with a discount for children. This entitles you to a full tour (about 40/45 minutes depending on which tour you choose) and you can get off and pick up the tour later on in the day. Each passenger is given a special audio guide in Italian or English.
